This will be a long story with a very happy ending. I was born in Poughkeepsie many years ago. I graduated from Poughkeepsie High School, went to college, and eventually settled in San Diego, where I have lived since 1980. My family home, which my grandparents had built in the 1920s, finally needed to be sold. The house was not a model home—it had been neglected for quite a number of years—but she just rolled up her sleeves and said, "Let's get to work." I made three trips from San Diego to Poughkeepsie during the sale process, and she met with me at least once during each visit, giving me great advice on all the specifics that were new to me.
